Singapur - Gardens by the Bay

 

Gardens by the Bay ist ein künstlich angelegter Park. Es wurde als grüne Oase der Stadt konzipiert.

Ein zentrales Element sind die Super Trees. Hierbei handelt es sich um bewachsene Stahlgerüste. Sie dienen nicht nur den Pflanzen als Träger. Über sie wird auch Regenwasser gesammelt und in den Spitzen befinden sich Photovoltaik Anlagen.

Als weitere Attraktion gelten zwei Kuppelgebäude, der Flower Dome und der Cloud Forest.

Im Flower Dome werden trockene, mediterrane Verhältnisse geschaffen. Zu bestaunen sind Pflanzen aus gemäßigten Gebieten, wie z.B. Chile, den Kanaren und Nordamerika.

Im Cloud Forest wird hingegen die tropische Vegetation in Höhen von 1.000 bis 3.000 Metern gezeigt.
